This resurfacing cocktail is a wonderful blend of agents designed to tighten and brighten. This formula breaks up melanin blocks in the deeper layers of the skin. The deeper the pigmentation damage, the greater the need for additional pigmentation treatments. You can expect to feel itchy and prickly activity during the treatment. The brown spots will get darker, and then shed in 3 to 5 days. The skin will be smoother, lighter, and progress to being spot-free. Wrinkle Lift Treatment
These resurfacing agents penetrate very quickly to the lower levels of the skin to work deeply. It is designed to regenerate new cells and increase the production of collagen to create a younger, healthy, and less wrinkled skin. This treatment is great for just about anyone, although we typically recommend it for all levels of aging skin and some pigmentation (brown or red) problems. Our staff will design a program of a variety of treatments specifically to meet YOUR needs.

After this treatment, you will feel a prickly, itchy feeling while the solution is working. Your skin may appear pink to very red, but this is normal. Depending on your skin, you may have some redness for many hours after the treatment. Immediately following the treatment, your skin will feel tight and fresh. Within 24 to 48 hours the skin may experience light shedding of old, dead skin cells. This is how the regeneration of new cells and increased production of collagen happens to create younger, healthy, and less wrinkled skin. Acne Lift Treatment
This resurfacing cocktail is a combination of chemicals designed to take two actions. One agent works to slow down the sebaceous gland, thus slowing oil production that clogs the pores. The second agent breaks up the keratin in the cell, gently exfoliating dead skin cells, and increasing cellular turnover. This dual effect makes it an excellent, safe and gentle peel. LASER TISSUE TIGHTENING/LASER REJUVENATION

What is TISSUE TIGHTENING/LASER REJUVENATION?
Laser Rejuvenation (sometimes called Laser Tissue Tightening) is a non-invasive procedure that uses safe Laser energy to cause collagen in the skin’s dermis and epidermis to contract, tighten and repair. In addition to tightening sagging or loose skin, this remarkable technology can also correct or erase the signs of sun damage, Rosacea, brown or age spots, and to decrease the appearance of mild acne scars and fine lines around the mouth and eyes. And it can be used on any area of the body like your face, chest, hands, legs or any other area with problems you want corrected.

How does it work?
After cleansing the area, we gently guide the Laser delivery device over your skin. You will feel a warm sensation deep in your tissues as the Laser energy is delivered to the deep layers of your skin. The Laser energy causes the collagen support tissues to contract and tighten. How Many Treatments Are Required?
On average, we recommend between 3 to 5 treatment sessions, about 4 weeks apart, for most problems, but the number of sessions is highly variable depending on your condition(s). Keep in mind that Laser Rejuvenation treatments work from very deep in your body (from the inside out) and results are, therefore, gradual. It is common to take 3 to 6 months before you see the maximum effects of this treatment, though some patients see results quickly and are delighted after his or her first treatment.

What is SPECTRAPULSE INTENSE PULSE LIGHT?
SpectraPulse Intense Pulse Light, often referred to as a PhotoFacial, is a non-invasive and non-ablative rejuvenation of your skin using the remarkable technology of Intense Pulse Light. PhotoFacial technology can correct or erase the signs of photoaging, Rosacea, sun damage, brown or age spots, and to decrease the appearance of mild acne scars and fine lines around the mouth and eyes.

How Does It Work?
After a clear gel is applied to the area, we gently apply the SpectraPulse hand piece to your skin. The IPL can resolve pigment problems (sun spots, age spots), freckles, redness (including small spider veins), sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, and Rosacea. The light from the SpectraPulse stimulates collagen growth, improves skin texture, increases skin smoothness, rids you of brown spots, small spider veins, redness and decreases pore size.

How Many Treatments Are Usually Required?

What Should I Expect After My SPECTRAPULSE IPL TREATMENT?

What Does LIGHTWAVE REJUVENATION Do?
Lightwave LED can reduce and even reverse the effect of aging and other damage to skin and body tissues. It works by stimulating the rejuvenation of these tissues at the cellular level, resulting in a significant and yet totally naturally looking cosmetic enhancement.

Sounds Good. But Does It Really Work?
The effectiveness of using light, both red and infrared therapy, to stimulate rejuvenation in damaged tissues has been documented in more than 2,500 research papers, and more than 100 double blind studies. How Does LIGHTWAVE Work?

How Soon Will I See Results and How Long Will They Last?
As with any treatment, individual results vary from person to person. We have found that treatments are most effective for those persons already living a healthy lifestyle. Most people see noticeable changes in 6 to 8 treatments, but some see improvement after their first or second treatment! It takes an average of 14-21 days for the cells to complete their rejuvenation, so you will continue to improve for two to three weeks after each treatment. And the effects are cumulative, meaning that each improvement builds on the previous improvement. We recommend 2 treatments a week for a total of 10 to 20 treatments, depending on your needs. For maintenance, we suggest at least one treatment per month.

LASER THERAPY to Remove Unwanted Hair and
Spider Veins

What is LASER?
Laser is a device that controls the way energized atoms release photons (light energy). It creates and amplifies a narrow, intense beam of coherent light, meaning that the waves of light are in phase with each other. It targets only specific tissue that preferentially absorbs light of particular wavelengths. We use laser for both hair and vein removal treatments, but we use a different wavelength for hair than for veins. In other words, laser has different targets called chromophores. Laser is an acronym as follows:

Laser Treatments Should Be Administered in a Medical Facility
Because of the power of laser energy, it is very important that patients receiving laser treatments receive them in medical facilities, not in centers without medical personnel. Licensed medical staff (MD and/or RN) should be ON SITE, not in the form of “medical directors” who are in name only.

What Should I Expect?
For Laser Hair Removal, in general, you should shave about 48 hours prior to treatment. Hair needs to be visible with about 1-2mm growth above the skin line. (ex: 5 o’clock shadow). If in doubt, it is better to have extra hair growth – we can always trim it down prior to the laser procedure. If the hair is too short, the laser cannot reach the hair follicle. DO NOT PLUCK OR WAX for at least one month prior to treatment as this causes microscopic scarring surrounding the hair follicle and results in a less effective treatment. Shaving can take place before and after treatments.

NO “PAIN”
Because we have new state-of-the-art technology, there should be no “pain” associated with the laser procedure. Patients who have been treated with older model machines commonly experienced moderate to severe pain. Providers who use older equipment use a “numbing gel,” but patients still report pain. We do not use a “numbing gel” because it is not necessary thanks to our new technology.

ZIMMER COOLER
We will use a state-of-the-art ZIMMER COOLER to assist in relief from any mild discomfort and to prevent damage to the skin. The Zimmer Cooler provides a consistent moist, cool flow of air over the area treated.

What Happens before the Treatment?
We will cleanse the area being treated prior to treatment. If we remove your make-up, we will provide you with a free makeover before you leave. We will also apply a physician- grade sun block to the area before you leave. To protect your eyes, we provide goggles during your procedure.

What Skin and Color Types Can Laser Treat?
Because we have new state-of-the-art laser technology, we can treat any skin type for laser hair removal. It is best if your skin color is as close to its normal shade as possible, so stay out of the sun or use a physician grade-sun block prior to treatments and after treatments. We carry physician-grade, “Image International,” skin care products at Le Salon di Bellezza.

For Laser Vein Treatment, we ask you to use physician grade sun block for 2 to 4 weeks prior to treatment and to use the same physician-grade sun block consistently following the treatment.

How Many Treatments Will It Take?
Hair grows in 3 phases: rest, intermediate, and growth phases (in lay terms). Laser will destroy the hair follicle while it is in the growth phase. It will not destroy any hair follicle in the rest or intermediate phases. Therefore, we will not destroy all the desired hair follicles in one treatment. You will need from 2 to 5 treatments to reach all the hair follicles at the right time. There is no way of determining exactly how many treatments it will take for you since every patient is different and different parts of the body are in different “growth phases” at different times. Also, hair grows at different rates in different parts of the body. Depending on the part of the body treated, we will need to see you every 4 – 8 weeks. If you wait past the time period we have recommended, the treatment will be much less effective.

Treating veins usually takes one treatment. We will ask to see you back in about 6 weeks to evaluate the results.

Are There Any Patients Who Cannot Have Laser
Treatments?
There are some patients who cannot have laser treatments. Here is a list of patients who are likely to experience contraindications to Laser Treatments:

1. Pregnant Patients
2. Patients who use Photosensitive Medications
3. Patients who are Insulin Dependent Diabetics
4. Patients with a History of Keloid Scarring
5. Patients who have had Dental Surgery within the last 2 weeks (for
facial treatments only)

MICRODERMABRASION to Exfoliate and Rejuvenate Skin,
Followed by OXYMIST to Speed Healing and Improve Results

What Is MICRODERMABRASION?
Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical, non-chemical, non-invasive method of skin resurfacing. Air is circulated to produce a stream of fine aluminum oxide micro particles that “blast” and vacuum the surface of the skin. This gentle skin blasting causes the top dead skin layers to be removed along with the skin’s impurities. It also increases blood supply, thus providing nutrients necessary for skin regeneration and repair, and increased cellular turnover. It rejuvenates the skin by exfoliating and generating firmer, more youthful looking skin.

What Happens after MICRODERMABRASION?
After a microdermabrasion, your skin will “glow” and feel fresh. Any fine lines and fine discoloration will be refined. We recommend repeated and regular treatments because the effects of the microdermabrasion are not permanent. As we age, we produce less collagen and elastin which causes our skin to sag, wrinkle, crease, and look dull. However, over time, the repeated process of microdermabrasion stimulates the production of a new layer of skin cells, bringing with it an increased level of collagen and elastin, creating a more youthful, healthy skin tone and improving the skin’s overall appearance. After about the third or fourth treatment, 1-2 weeks apart, there is a real visible change in the appearance of the skin.

What Conditions Can Be Treated with MICRODERMABRASION?
Medical Microdermabrasion treats numerous conditions, including but not limited to, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, chicken pox scars, blemishes and acne, stretch marks, acne scars, brown spots, sun damage, and dull skin.

What Areas of the Skin Does MICRODERMABRASION Treat?
Most commonly, microdermabrasion is used on the face and neck. However, we use microdermabrasion for the stretch marks on the abdomen and hips. We also recommend microdermabrasion for the elbows, knees, hands, feet, shoulders and décolletage.

What Skin Types and Colors Can Be Treated?
All types of skin and skin colors may be treated with microdermabrasion.

MICRODERMABRASION Is Safe and Has No “DOWN TIME”
Microdermabrasion is performed in a sterile environment. All tools that contact the treatment area are either disposable or sterilized. It requires no healing time and can even be done on your lunch break!

How Does MICRODERMABRASION Feel During and Afterwards?
Microdermabrasion treatments feel like a mild biting sensation, similar to the feeling of stinging raindrops. The thinner the layer of dead cells in the treatment area, the more stinging you will feel and if you have a thick layer of dead cells, you will not feel any stinging. Following the treatment, you may feel like you have a mild sunburn. You may have some redness to the treated area – this is an increase in blood flow. We will apply a physician-grade sun block. We will also provide a free make-over with Jane Iredale mineral make-up if you desire. Only physician-grade, mineral make-up is recommended following a treatment.

What Is OXYMIST?
Oxymist is applied to your skin following microdermabrasion to provide your skin with medical-grade oxygen and other nutrients to speed healing and improve results. The use of oxygen is essential for maintaining cellular function and repair. It promotes fibroblast production (a repair cell) and collagen production. Oxymist will make you look healthier and give your skin a smoother texture.

Why OXYGEN?
As we age our skin loses the ability to use and hold onto oxygen. By the age of 30, this ability has been reduced by almost 30% and reaches 50% by the age of 50. Less oxygen in the dermis of the skin results in more wrinkles, fine lines and skin that looks dull and lifeless.

Oxygen stimulates collagen production and destroys bacteria, particularly those associated with acne. It improves the functioning of blood vessels and acts as a defense against fine lines and dull skin.

What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is a dermal filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that exists in our bodies and provides fullness and volume to our skin. Where can I have Juvederm injections?

What should I expect with a Juvederm treatment?
Our licensed healthcare professional will examine the soft tissue of your face to assess the depth of wrinkles and folds to determine your treatment. A topical anesthetic will be applied to numb the treatment area. After the anesthetic has had time to numb the areas, our healthcare professional will ease the Juvederm injectable gel under your skin to augment, or fill, wrinkles and folds. Following the injection, our healthcare professional may gently massage the treatment areas.

What should I do after my Juvederm treatment?
For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize the risks of temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the treatment sites. After the treatment, some temporary injection-related reactions may occur, such as minor redness, swelling, and bumps. This may last up to 7 days.

When will I see results from my Juvederm treatment?
You should see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Most patients need one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing. And one treatment could smooth your lines and wrinkles for up to 1 year! However, results may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental “touch up” treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results.

BOTOX® to Diminish or Eliminate Frown Lines and Wrinkles

What is BOTOX®?
Botox is a purified protein administered by injection that temporarily blocks the chemicals that cause facial muscles to contract, thereby relaxing them and resulting in a flattening of wrinkles and skin. Botox is administered directly into muscles that cause lines and wrinkles.

What Can I Expect from a BOTOX Treatment?
Botox injections are quick and cause minimal discomfort. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. No anesthesia is required. If you prefer, however, you may request a topical anesthetic cream prior to an injection. You need to have the anesthetic cream applied at least 45 minutes prior to an injection, so you would need to come about an hour before your appointment. The entire Botox treatment (without anesthetic) takes no more than 10 minutes. You will see results within 2 to 7 days and you will continue to see improvement over the next 30 days. You may resume normal activity immediately.

How Long Do the BOTOX Results Last?
Visible results from a Botox treatment last up to 4 months. We recommend treating you every 3 months for the first year. If you follow this schedule, after that, you should require only 1-2 Botox treatments a year to maintain your results. Or you may choose to get your Botox treatments as you determine they are needed.

Are these Treatments Safe?
Yes. In 2005, 3.3 million Botox Cosmetic treatments were administered in the US. The FDA approved Botox for cosmetic treatments of the glabellar lines (between eyebrows) in 2002. Botox received the highest patient satisfaction rating in 2003 and 2004 for all medically administered treatments.

What is it?
This medical treatment uses radio frequency technology to heat adipose (fat) cells to a high enough temperature to cause the destruction of the fat cell’s membrane; the fat cell is therefore also destroyed. The radio frequency technology also stimulates collagen synthesis which results in tissue tightening and lifting.

What is it used for?
For cosmetic reasons, radio frequency technology is used to dissolve fat tissue so the patient may lose unwanted fat and cellulite – losing both pounds and inches! Radio frequency technology is also used on the face to decrease the signs of aging and to decrease unwanted fat (jaw & eye pads).

Is it used for other reasons?
Yes. Radio frequency technology is used in many fields of medicine. For example, it is used at very high frequencies to ablate tissue in many surgical procedures. It is used at low and medium frequencies as pain therapy to provide pain relief and to stimulate muscle. Radio frequency technology is used in obesity treatment, sports medicine, pain management and rehabilitation, and pre and post surgery.

How does it work?
This cosmetic medical treatment works in two ways:

1. destroying fat cells/tissue by heating the fat cell until the
   membrane around the cell collapses and the cell is destroyed; and

What will the treatment be like?
The treatment will involve massage and heat. You will feel the heat on your skin but it will not be uncomfortable. Depending on the size of the are being treated and the amount of fat in the area, your treatment will take between 20 minutes and one hour.

How many treatments are recommended?
The number of treatments recommended for optimum results is ten. The minimum number of treatments is six. Every patient is different. Our medical expert will make a recommendation tailored to your needs.

LIPODISSOLVE and MESOTHERAPY
to Get Rid of Unwanted Fat and Cellulite

What is Lipodissolve?

Lipodissolve is the use of several micro-injections to combat a variety
of localized fat deposits and cellulite.
It is ideal for areas on the body that do not respond to diet and exercise,
like the abdomen, hips, “love handles,” thighs, “saddle bags,” “bra strap area,”
and the back. It can also be used for the fat pads under the
eyes and the jaw and “double chins.” For small to medium fat deposits, it can replace surgery!

Sounds Great but Does It Really Work?
Lipodissolve has been called “the most promising discovery in aesthetic medicine since Botox®” by the American Society of
Non-Surgical Aesthetics. It is often referred to as “the non-surgical lipoplasty” or “lipo in a needle.” It has been used
successfully in the US for cosmetic purposes since 2002.

Is Lipodissolve Safe?
The substance used in Lipodissolve is derived from lecithin, a nutritional substance found in both plants (soy) and animals (egg yolks). Lipodissolve treatments use the plant lecithin derivative. This substance (PPC) has been used in the US for more than 50 years for cardiac emergencies. It has been injected intravenously to “dissolve” the fatty deposits in blood vessels. Over fifty years of clinical data have shown no known damaging effects on other organs. Moreover, many clinical studies were published in 2005 in the US and Europe on the use of the substance to treat subcutaneous fat deposits and additional reports are expected to be published, showing efficacy and safety. More than 18,000 plus Lipodissolve procedures have been completed worldwide with no reports of adverse reactions.

Will I Lose Weight?
Lipodissolve is not a weight loss therapy and it is not intended for large volumes of fat. You will lose subcutaneous fat deposits that are small to moderate in size. You will lose inches, rather than pounds. People may tell you that it looks like you are losing weight.

How does Lipodissolve work?
The substance used in Lipodissolve works by lysing (breaking) the fat cells. The fat cells that are broken necrose (die). The fat within the lysed fat cells escapes into your tissues. Your body will react with a big inflammatory response due to the action of Lipodissolve. Your body senses this free fat that has escaped from the fat cell as an invader and starts a process by which it will pick up that fat and excrete it. Most of the fat is excreted through the digestive system, though some people also experience an increase in sweating.

What can I expect from Lipodissolve?
When you have your Lipodissolve procedure, we will first take your vital signs and review your medical history. We will take photos and measurements for your chart so we can track your progress. We will prep the area with antiseptic solution. You will receive several micro-injections of the Lipodissolve in the treated area. These injections are not painful; most patients rate them a 2 or 3 on a scale of 10. If you desire, we can apply a topical anesthetic on the area prior to your injections, but you would need to come for your appointment about 45 minutes early so the anesthetic has time to work. Soon after the injections (even before you leave Le Salon di Bellezza) you will start to feel the local inflammatory response – stinging, itching, tenderness, swelling, redness, mild bruising – in the treated area. These symptoms will last between one and five days. We will see you to evaluate you and treat you again (if needed) in 4 to 6 weeks.

How many Lipodissolve treatments will I need?
Most patients obtain their desired results with 1 to 4 Lipodissolve treatments. Though we will provide our medical opinion, we expect the patient to decide when he/she has reached that point; for example, some patients want to have a “6 pack” while others just want to look better in their clothes.

WHAT IS MESOTHERAPY?
Mesotherapy was formulated in France and has been used there since 1952. In the US, it’s been used since 1999. Mesotherapy is a series of superficial microinjections of a mixture of FDA approved medications, vitamins and minerals. These injections penetrate your mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue under your skin. This mixture differs depending on the condition of the area being treated and is formulated specifically for
YOUR needs.

Mesotherapy can treat an array of conditions.
Mesotherapy is a cutting-edge medical technique to treat:

How does Mesotherapy work?

A. In General
The micro-injections of FDA approved medications, vitamins and minerals penetrate the mesoderm, or middle layer of skin, and act as
a “medicinal bullet” delivered to a specific target in the body. The skin (mesoderm) acts as an efficient time-released delivery system.
Mesotherapy works by stimulating the body to heal itself in the targeted areas.

B. For Fat or Spot Reduction
The formula of medications used in Mesotherapy melts the fat beneath the skin and from deeper fat cells. After the fat is dissolved, it
is absorbed into the bloodstream and carried away and removed from the body through the kidneys. Mesotherapy can be used to eliminate
unwanted stubborn fat in any area, like the abdomen, hips, “love handles,” “saddle bags,” and the “bra strap area.” It can also be
used for double chins. For desired results, about 10 treatment sessions are required, spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart. The patient can
expect NO downtime or disruptions in his or her daily life.

C. To Get Rid of Cellulite
Mesotherapy can be used to rid the body of cellulite from the legs and the buttocks. Mesotherapy can rid these “orange peel” like skin
areas by repairing tissue, shrinking the fat cells and increasing circulation. After completion of the treatments, the patient can
expect to see a result of a smoother even-toned appearance. Generally, patients must commit to 10-15 weekly treatments to
achieve desired results.

D. For Skin Rejuvenation
The Mesotherapeutic process known as Mesolift involves microinjections into the face and neck area to activate the cells
metabolically and stimulate the natural collagen and elastin producing process. This treatment not only reduces the appearance of
existing wrinkles, but also helps prevent them from forming. Some patients start in their 30’s or 40’s, while others start in their
60’s or 70’s. We recommend about 4 to 6 treatments on the face and neck at 1-2 weeks apart. To maintain the skin’s youthful appearance,
we recommend follow-up treatments every 3 to 4 weeks.

What can I expect following Mesotherapy?
The patient may experience some bruising and slight discomfort. We recommend that you drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to flush
out the breakdown products of the tissue. There is NO downtime or disruption in daily living.
